Installation FAQ

1) How do I get a free installation quote?

After the purchase of a charging station on our website there will be a link present in the order confirmation email which will bring you to our partner's questionnaire. Once the questionnaire has been filled, our partners will contact you with the estimate for your installation.

2) How do I install a level 2 home charging station?

ChargeHub recommends that you get a master electrician to install your station which is a requirement to receiving a government rebate on an installation. ChargeHub works with certified partners to offer installations to our clients after the purchase of a level 2 charging station. Please note the service is presently available to QC residents only.

3) How much does an installation cost?

There are many factors that can affect the cost of an installation. A detailed quote will be provided to you by our partners after filling out a questionnaire which will be present in your order confirmation email. Once you’ve received the quote you can then decide whether to proceed with the installation or not.

4) What size breaker do I need for a level 2 charging station?

A breaker has to protect 120% of its charge. Therefore, its size depends on the amperage of your charging station. For a 30A charging station, you need a 40A breaker, whereas a 40A charger requires a 50A breaker. If you don't have enough space on your breaker panel, our partners will recommend a solution. It is possible to reorganize your circuits or decrease the amperage of your charging station.

5) Can charging stations be installed outside?

Yes, charging stations are certified to be installed outdoors and are manufactured to function in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 40°C as well as being resistant to rain, snow and ice; therefore, there is no need to shelter the charging station. We do recommend using a receptacle to holster the connector to prevent water, snow or ice to accumulate inside of it.
